Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen full fight video for boxing match

Round 1: Both men take center stage. Silva certainly, as expected, looks like the more polished boxer. Sonnen crouches low and throws body shots at very awkward angles. They tie up and the referee separates. Silva lands a jab, Sonnen back to the body, Silva moves around to the ropes and lands a combination. The ref warns Sonnen that he was on and they are back at it. Sonnen with a head clinch, ref separates again. Silva lands a light left hand and that’s the round. Both men, to put it politely, are taking it easy out there.

Round 2: We’re on with both men throwing a touch harder than the first. Sonnen continues to go to the body, Silva with a jab and a right hand, Sonnen connects again to another warning from the official. Short uppercut from Silva, duck under left from Silva as well. Sonnen with a type of windmill combo that falls short.

They stand in the pocket and trade some light punches, Silva lands a good left hand, Sonnen fires a right that falls short. To the center of the ring they go, but the bell rings.

Round 3: Silva opened up his arsenal a bit more in the third, still not throwing with malice, but definitely landing. Sonnen gets a double underhook and pushes Silva into the corner, and when they separate, he does it again. Silva tries to back up, but the ref separates them. Silva with a jab, Sonnen to the body, Silva plays defense and counters with jabs and short rights. They battle in the corner for a moment before the referee sees enough. Four punch combo from Silva lands, followed by a hard shot to the body. Sonnen tries to bully inside the body. Silva avoids everything bigger and the bell rings.

Round 4: Sonnen comes out and tries to chase Silva, but Silva moves like a butterfly. Short uppercut from Silva, Sonnen ties up, and we separate. About 15 seconds of movement without a punch thrown from either guy, eventually short uppercut from Silva, three punch combo behind it, and a dig to the body, but nothing hot to throw from either guy. Silva lands a shot and Sonnen falls to the mat. Not sure if it’s a true knockdown or not, but it’s Silva landing the most punches as the round ends.

Round 5: Didn’t seem like a knockdown, so we go to the fifth. Beats in bunches from both guys. Silva looks a lot fresher bouncing around. Silva waits for Sonnen to come in, and when he does, Silva lands a combo. Sonnen rushes in, ties himself to the ropes. Ref allows it for about 10 seconds before separating. Sonnen is bleeding from the nose as a short timeout is called to clean it up. Okay.

Last 20 seconds of this one, Silva lands a couple of jabs, circles around, hits Sonnen about nine times unanswered, and that’s it. Sonnen raises his hands in the air and looks like he had a five-round war. Silva doesn’t seem to be fighting at all. A nice little bit of nostalgia, but certainly not any kind of knockdown, drags out the deal.
